Gata de Gorgos: a walk through the craft streets

Gata de Gorgos is a town where a shop window can be a local history lesson. Baskets, woven furniture and other plant-fibre goods remain a visible part of its street life. They are worth looking at slowly: shape, handle and weave often tell you what a piece was made to carry, store or shade.

The local story

The craft tradition sits in a working Marina Alta town beside the Gorgos river, not in an open-air museum.
